EDGEWATER REVS SAG; NET PLUNGES

Timothy Oakes, Edgewater TechnologyEdgewater Technology saw a steep drop in net income while revenue declined much less sharply for the third quarter ended September 30. Net income plummeted to $43,000 in the most recently ended quarter from slightly more than $1 million a year earlier. Revenue was $30.8 million, down 1.1 percent from $31.2 million in last year's corresponding period.

DYNAMICS 365 HURTING SALES?

Shirley Singleton, Edgewater 33Two Dynamics resellers that report publicly are saying that the move to the cloud with Dynamics 365 is causing sales issues. Denmark-based Columbus and Edgewater Technology both pointed to Microsoft's move to push to the cloud with 365, an online version of Dynamics AX. Edgewater CEO Shirley Singleton said in her company's earnings webcast that the lack of a migration path for the desktop AX users is causing businesses to reconsider buying decisions.

FAYE BUYS ATCORE SYSTEMS

David Faye, FayeBSGFayeBSG, a SugarCRM reseller, has acquired another Sugar VAR Atcore Systems, based in Atlanta. Founded in 2006 by CEO Josh Sweeney, the Atcore practice will be folded into the new Atlanta office of Woodland Hills, Calif.-based FayeBSG. Besides the Atlanta presence, Faye has Philadelphia, Texas; Austin, Texas; and Los Angeles, Calif.

APTOS NAMES SALES LEADER

Frank Lord, AptosRetail software company Aptos has hired Frank Lord as its sales and revenue leader. Lord, who will be based in the United Kingdom will be responsible for both global sales and the company's partner alliances organization. He worked at Oracle from December 2007 through August 2016.

INTACCT TO DEBUT IN-MEMORY DATABASE

Aaron Harris, Intacct Intacct is preparing to utilize an in-memory database for its cloud products, starting with an analytics application. At Intacct's recent Advantage conference, chief technology officer Aaron Harris said a limited release will be released early next year. As to when such products will be available, Harris said, "It's hard to say when that broad deployment will happen".

James Ward, Brainsell TechnologiesReseller Brainsell Technologies has broadened its wide line of CRM packages with the addition of OroCRM. The Topsfield, Mass.-based reseller it is the No. 1 reseller for SugarCRM and the addition of OroCRM gives it two open source CRM packages. Brainsell CEO James Ward, who reported the founders of Oro were Magento founders, noted his firm already has open source skills

XERO LOSS FLAT; REVS UP 48%

Rod Drury, XeroXero held its first half loss even at roughly $32 million for the first half ended September 30. Revenue for the New Zealand-based cloud software company rose to just under $100 million, up 48 percent from last year's corresponding period. Perhaps the most important numbers are the increase of subscribers since March 30.

ACCUFUND INTROS PAYMENT PORTAL

AccuFundAccuFund has introduced a Web Payment Portal that integrates with the AccuFund Accounting Suite. The portal integrates with both the Accounts Receivable and Utility Billing modules of the nonprofit software suite. Payments made through the portal are automatically updated in the suite database.

BLACKBAUD REPORTS "SOLID QUARTER"

Mike Gianoni, Blackbaud Blackbaud has reported double-digit increases for both net income and revenue for the third quarter on September 30. CEO Mike Gianoni said during this week's earnings webcast it was a "solid third quarter, positioning us well to finish the year and achieve our 2016 financial guidance, which we updated to increase the cash flow component."

XERO SHAKES UP EXECUTIVE RANKS

Keri Gohman, XeroXero will have its third head of American operations in two years when Keri Gohman takes over as president of the Americas in December. Gohman replaces Russell Fujioka, who was been with the cloud software company, since February 2015. Meanwhile, chief marketing and revenue officer Andy Lark, based in Australia, is also leaving after two years and two months in his job.
