ORACLE GETS RIMINI INJUNCTION

Oracle has been granted a permanent injunction against Rimini Street, which provides support for enterprise software. The Federal District Court in Nevada rejected Rimini’s effort to delay the injunction which prohibits Rimini and its Seth Ravin from continuing what a 2015 copy infringement trial found was unlawful infringement.

XERO HITS 1.6 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS

Steve Vamos, XeroXero added 380,000 subscribers in the last year reaching slightly less than 1.6 million for the half year ended September 30. The New Zealand-based company issued the statistics as it reported revenue for the most recently ended period was up 36 percent, but its loss rose by 46 percent over last year’s corresponding period.

AVALARA SPENDS INTO MARKET

Scott McFarlane, AvalaraAvalara more than doubled its loss for the second quarter ended September 30 as it spent to grow its market. The company’s revenue rose by 24.3 percent over last year’s corresponding period, but operating expenses were up 41.1 percent over a year earlier.

INTUIT SETS GOODARZI’S PAY

Sasan Godoarzi, IntuitIntuit has changed compensation terms for Sasan Goodarzi, who will become Intuit’s CEO on January 1. He will succeed Brad Smith, who will become executive chairman on that date. Goodarzi’s base salary will be $1 million, up from the $750,000 he currently receives.

MYOB TALKING TO KKR

myobMYOB Group has agreed to grant information access to KKR, which has proposed a takeover of the Australia-based software company. Meanwhile, MYOB noted that KKR has raised its cash bid to A$3.77 per share from A $3.70 per share.

DYNAMICS B.C., SMB MANAGER LEAVING

 Marko Perisic, MicrosoftMarko Perisic, general manager for Dynamics 365 Business Central, is leaving Microsoft. In a LinkedIn post this week, Perisic outlined his plan to enter the HR software space after working with the software company since October 2006. His last day with Microsoft is November 16.

Steve Hare, SageThe Sage Group took what seems a logical route, and quick route, to getting a new CEO. It has named CFO Steve Hare to the top job. He replaces Steve Kelly, who was booted on August 31, a month before the company ended its fiscal year on September 30.

Jeffrey Rutherford, Edgewater TechnologyEdgewater Technology, a Microsoft and Oracle partner, has become part of Canadian Alithya. The deal closed this week following shareholder approval which establishes Alithya and Edgewater as subsidiaries of the newly formed Alithya Group, which will take Edgewater’s place as a publicly traded company on Nasdaq.
