Reseller and industry sources say that Microsoft Business Solutions, the group that markets the Dynamics software line, has had layoffs. These would have come just after Microsoft ended its fiscal year on June 30. Sales-and-use-tax vendor Avalara is going mobile via a third-party app. The product, which will incorporate the company's geo-location technology, will be introduced early next year by developer Inner Fence. Geo-location is designed to determine taxing jurisdictions for other locations, including those under construction or with no address.
