Version 8 of Open Systems Accounting Software has been released. In a prepared statement, David Link, VP of development for Shakopee, Minn.-based Open Systems, said the system "is designed to prepare companies for the kind of mobile connectivity and data accessibility that businesses are increasingly demanding," The company cited database enhancements to make access to information faster and more flexible as among the important upgrades.

Passport Software, which I always like to think of as the company that just keeps on ticking, has introduced Version 12.03 of Passport Business Software. For those not familiar with history, Passport is a direct descendant of the former RealWorld software. In a prepared statement, president John Miller described the new version's Check Reconciliation as "a much improved module" that feature graphical screens and new options to improve support of cash management.

SwiftPage has introduced Act emarketing, a service designed for the North American Act Certified Consultant channel. The Denver, Colo.-based company said this lets the CCs deliver integrated emarketing capabilities to Act v. 16 customers via features that include a dynamic drag-and-drop template editor with more than 100 preconfigured templates. There is also "in-context integration with the Act! contact management solution," according to the company press release.
