The Winter '14 release of FinancialForce Accounting has been introduced with an integration with the Avalara sales tax engine. Users can manage sales and use taxes on the Salesforce platform or use Avalara to track and submit tax forms and payments. FinancialForce.com says the concurrent winter release of FinancialForce PSA features an updated timecard interface that offers a single point of entry in the cloud; a time-against-task feature for tracking time on project tasks; new Gantt chart functionality that provides a visual representation of projects and tasks; and mobile expense capabilities. FinancialForce.com is jointly owned by Unit4 and Salesforce.com.

Unit4 has introduced Milestone 4, a product whose highlights include its support of social and mobile technologies. Available via the public and private cloud, the new ERP package is designed for what Unit4 says are people-centric business that have large mobile work forces. Functionality is being released in what the company terms "Experience Packs". Those are also available to on-premise users who can chose what areas of the product to focus on in terms of timing and order of an upgrade.

An upgrade for the version of the venerable F9 will be coming next money in February for AccountMate's financial applications. In a mailing to the channel, AccountMate CEO David Dierke noted that there would be an upgrade F9 5.0 for AccountMate. The vendor's resellers also sell F9, which is a very small dot in the universe of its owner SAP,  and get their usual business partner discounts for sales.
