SAGE PICKS BRAND EVP

Van Diamandakis, Sage Sage has named Van Diamandakis EVP of brand. And while the software company said this is "next stage of its global marketing plans", I believe we have been here before. After heading North American market for two years, Gabrielle Boko was EVP of global brand experience at Sage from July through December 2015. She surfaced in January at HP Enterprise.

ROB JOHNSON MOVES ON

Robert Johnson, Ameriflex Robert Johnson, who held key sales positions with Avalara and Sage, has taken the position of national sales director with Ameriflex. Ameriflex offers HR and related products, including OBRA administration and special plan billing services and  compliance services. Johnson was with Timberline/Sage from 1999 through 2011.

CURRENCY CHOPS INFOR 3Q

Charles Phillips, InforCurrency changes took a bite out of the bottom line for Infor for the third quarter ended January 31. The software company lost $44.2 million for the most recently ended period, compared to net income of $51.3 million a year earlier. A major factor was other expenses of $35.7 million, primarily reflecting currency fluctuations, compared to other income of $53 million in last year's corresponding period.

SAGE PICKS VIRGIN SPEAKER

Richard BransonSage has selected Richard Branson, the founder of the Virgin Group as a keynote speaker for its Summit conference in late July in Chicago. And thus it begins for the event planned for July 25 through 28. Hopefully, we will see a different brand of PR than we saw in the 2015. That was built around the premise that everyone, including the trade press, wanted to see high-profile speakers like Colin Powell.

FishbowlFishbowl has introduced four online products that are aimed at businesses that need to manage inventory. These include Fishbowl Commerce, an online hub that integrates Fishbowl across multiple e-commerce platforms, and Fishbowl Go, an app for Android devices that supports barcode scanning, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting and other warehouse jobs.

HighJump Software HighJump Software has made a web-based user interface available with its HighJump Supply Chain Advantage. The application utilizes the HighJump One Platform, which the company calls “a browser- and device-agnostic platform that delivers common user experience and tools across HighJump’s supply chain software ecosystem. That includes the company’s enterprise warehouse management system and in-store fulfillment execution suite.

NETSUITE PICKS UP VARS

Eric Sheehan, OTTNetSuite has added the Estes Group, Fieldpoint Service Applications and OTT to its Solution Partner Program. The three newbies are a diverse group. The Estes Group sells Epicor 9 and 10 and OTT is a Dynamics GP VAR. Based in Estes Park, Colo., The Estes Group was founded in 2004 with CEO Bruce Grant as managing partner until he took his current title in December 2013.

INTUIT: BUYERS FOR QUICKBASE, QUICKEN

Allison Mnookin, QuickbaseQuicken, Intuit's pioneering money management tool, and QuickBase, the application development platform that never seemed to fit Intuit, are being sold to private equity firms. Quicken will be sold to HIG Capital of Miami, Fla.; QuickBase to Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, based in New York City. Terms were not disclosed for either deal.

EX-SAGE EXEC SPRING GETS JOB

Rich Spring, Seal SoftwareRich Spring, who bolted from Sage  in January, has taken a job as SVP of field operations for Seal Software. Spring left the position EVP and chief revenue officer after impressing the Sage channel and serving 10 months in that position. Based in San Francisco, Calif., Seal makes contract discovery, extraction and analytics applications that are sold into the Fortune 500.

SLEETER GONE FROM SLEETER GROUP

Doug Sleeter, The Sleeter Group You have to give the sponsors of Accountex USA, the conference that was known as SleeterCon credit for creativity in writing press releases. The February 23 release that says Doug Sleeter will keynote the event and ooze praise with phrases such as "Highly sought after for his ability to engage and educate accounting professionals on modern developments ..." His own description about his status with the company however, was a bit different.
