Kerr Consulting has acquired Atlanta Ga.-based SoftwareLink. Last week, we reported SoftwareLink founder Stan Kania had given up the ERP business to concentrate on hosting. Paired with the deal was the news that private equity firm Proviso had acquired majority ownership in Kerr, based in The Woodlands, Texas.

Acquisitions completed in 2015 played a major role in financial results for SilverSun Technologies for the year ended December 31. SilverSun, parent of reseller SWK Technologies, reported 2016 revenue of $34.1 million, an increase of 23.4 percent from $27.6 million in 2015.

With all the talk of the Trump administration's alleged foreign connections, Hollywood is talking about a sequel to the movie "Moscow on the Hudson." Avalara has hired Tony Susak as general manager for its communications business. He was director of tax for AT&T from January 2015 until taking the position. Before that he was tax director at Cricket Communications starting in December 2012 and was senor tax manager at OnStar from April 2006 through October 2012. Avalara's Communications business provides applications and services to small and large telecommunications companies.

Sage has extended the early bird price for registration for its Summit conference by a month. The website for the May 9 and 10 event shows that the cutoff is now April 14, as compared with March 15 just a couple of weeks ago. Bets are open for the over/under for another extension.
