The number of international subscribers reached 323,000. Overall, QBO subscriptions 1,638,000, an increase of 41 percent year-over-near. Intuit said about 110,000 QBO subscribers are using QB Self-Employed, up from 35,000 a year earlier. Intuit also reported 183,000 units of desktop QB sold during the quarter, up 23 percent from 149,000 a year ago. However, the company said the rate was an unusually high number of renewals drive by operating system upgrades and that it does not expect the growth to continue at the same pace. The growth in the number of desktop QB subscribers was more modest, rising to 332,000, up 4 percent from 317,000. Intuit also registered strong growth in online payroll. The number of subscribers reached 494,000, a 23.5-percent increase from 400,000 in the year ago quarter.

INTUIT RAMPING UP QB OVERSEAS Featured
Intuit registered strong growth for QuickBooks Online, desktop and Self-Employed in the first quarter ended October 31. And the company said sales of QBO were up 50 percent over a year ago outside the United States. "Based on strong product-market fit for QBO in Canada, the U.K., and Australia, we're leaning into greater go-to-market activity in these countries," CEO Brad Smith said in prepared remarks during this week's earnings webcast.
