SAP B1 TO BE "CLOUDIFIED" Featured

Luis Murguia, SAPSAP will move its Business One application to the cloud in a multi-year migration. Barry Padgett, president of the company's SMB operations, said that the company will bit by bit rewrite B1 applications in the Business Anywhere technology stack module by module. Currently, B1 is available in desktop form or hosted in the private cloud.

Padgett made it clear he views the products as a long-term part of the SMB product line. "I'm not redesigning the Business One product line to put it into obsolescence.," he said at the week's SAP SME Customer Summit in New York. " I want to cloudify the Business One experience." However, nine out of 10 customers buy perpetual licenses but have the software hosted. Moreover, Business one is a gateway application for the company. "Close to 90 percent of new customers come to SAP through Business One," said SVP Luis Murguia, general manager for Business One. He added that the application is growing by double digits annually.
