"Mounted in Alaska" seemed like an enticing name for a TV reality show. I thought maybe it was a series about Bristol Palin, but it’s just some stupid story about taxidermy. Considering that Palin Jr. was paid $262,500 paycheck in 2009 by The Candie’s Corp. as an ambassador for its teen pregnancy prevention campaign. The foundation is also considering hiring Charlie Sheen for an anti-cocaine abuse campaign and Willie Nelson to combat marijuana use. Republicans wanted to pay Levi Johnston, father of Bristol’s baby, to keep his mouth shut
… Baseball homerun king Barry Bonds was convicted of only one of four remaining counts against him and for the less severe, obstruction of justice. Bonds said it was the first time he was thankful for going one-for-four. I’m not sure he understood the charge saying if the catcher obstructed the plate without the ball, the runner is safe so he thought he should have gotten off.  ... Atlanta provides some nice touches to make a New York area resident feel at home. One the Marta train on the way to the airport, some guy began reciting, "I'm homeless and need your help. For those of you who are more fortunate ... It's a nice touch to make New York subway veterans feel right at home. ... Convergence's Sunday night reception was held at the Atlanta Aquarium and the World of Coca Cola, with a nice area in between reserved for outdoor food and drink stands and a stage for a U2 cover band. I'm not sure I made friends when I walked up to place samples of Coke from around the world were available and yelled, "Hey, can't a guy get a Pepsi around here?" Then I asked an attendant at the aquarium what was the correct soft drink to have with fish. And he seemed upset when I asked if I should place an order or had to catch my choice myself.
