Herman Man, XeroXero has named Herman Man as global VP of product. The fact that Man is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay area shows the cloud software company's continuing effort to have top management presence in the United States. There's been no announcement about the hiring, but Man's LinkedIn page shows he joined New Zealand-based Xero in August. He was co-founder of Chewsy in 2010.

Terry Hicks, IntuitIn January, we posted a note saying that Terry Hicks, VP of QuickBooks Online was leaving Intuit. I got no response from Intuit PR and there was no news of Hicks leaving for a long time But in the last few days, his LinkedIn page has changed to show his job ended last month. Hicks held the job starting in January 2013 and there is no higher-profile product at Intuit than QBO. It is the product around which the company intends to build its operations.

Sayta Nadella, MicrosoftWe were told this was coming. But it was a little jarring to observe that in his keynote, Kirill Tatarinov, president of Microsoft Business Solutions, did not mention any of the four Dynamics ERP packages by name. Dynamics CRM was cited frequently, but not AX, GP, NAV or SL. And with none of the three award-winning customer companies that came to the stage were the back office products named. It was all about CRM and the cloud.

Kevin Gilroy, SAP SAP is seeking new organizations to sell its high-profile cloud product, Business ByDesign.  Michael Schmitt, the new sheriff in the ByD town says, "We are talking to a lot of partners to activate them, motivate and come along with them." The question asked at the SAP SME Summit this week was how the giant software will do that after much of the channel felt burned by SAP's repositioning the product upstream,

Stuart Blumenthal, Microaccounting SolutionsStuart Blumenthal is leaving RKL eSolutions after a year as VP of consulting at the Lancaster, Pa.-based Sage reseller. Blumenthal is moving to Dallas, Texas-based Microaccounting Solutions to head up its SaaS, Hosting, and Business Intelligence division. He came to RKL in November 2013 after eight years and eight months at Information Systems Management with the sale of that VAR's Sage 500 operations to RKL.

Paul Turner, AdaptiveInsightsAdaptive Insights
has introduced Adaptive Suite 2014.2, a new version that features Adaptive Integration and OfficeConnect. In a prepared statement, Paul Turner, the company’s VP of product marketing, describes the suite as one that  “data analysts can easily contribute data to …” Adaptive Integration enables organizations to source and merge multiple data sources into the staging area, store snapshots of history, manage incremental or full data sets, store summary or detail data and cleanse and prepare data for analytics.

HerculesThe new seven trials of Hercules: Untangling the cords connected to the computer under his desk. Find a parking space in midtown Manhattan during business hours. Explaining the definitions on a W-4 form to someone who has never filled one out. Obtaining a coach seat for a flight you want using frequent flyer miles. Contacting the proper person at the average customer service department using the contact information from a company.

SAPSAP added three new Business ByDesign resellers during the last quarter in the United States and Canada. And that brings the total in these areas to 42. While that is more than suggested by the SAP partner finder on its website, it seems likely that the number actively selling is lower. John Okunski, director of North American channel sales, says 25 new partners were enlisted in the two countries during the same quarter with 25 more ready to join.
