Airline food seems to have reached a new low of accomplishment, officially honored with the fast food industry's Cordon Blecch award. I was served a Jimmy Dean Bagel with Egg and Cheese, which is an affront to God, the North and South. It was a sort of bagel with cheese-like, egg-like substance heated to scalding hot temperatures to disguise flavors. About the twentieth ingredient on the page was "cooked egg patty." I understand a breed of chicken has been developed to lay better egg patties. …

Went to Carnegie Hall to hear the live version of public radio's "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me". The choice was top dollar seats or obstructed view. Nothing like paying top dollar to sit in a box on what were essentially red velvet bar stools. I must say the guy in front of me got snippety when I pulled out my laptop and asked if Wi-Fi was available. I also told him I was looking forward to the seventh-inning stretch … A man who hadn't been to Times Square area for many years was very disappointed when he saw the store "Times Square Trix" and found out all it sold were mugs, dolls and other tourist items. … After Albert Mohler,  president of the Southern Baptist Seminary, declared that Yoga was unchristian he was deluged by emails of Yoga-loving members who suggested he try many positions, most of which were physically possible.  In his evangelical mindset, he apparently objected to any position that is not the missionary position. ... Five million containers of the baby formula, Simulac, were voluntarily recalled by manufacturer Abbott Laboratories, after regulators warned they might have been contaminated by beetles. So if your infant just has to have that real insect flavor, you're going to have to buy something like Gerber's "Creamy Cricket Legs and Infant Formula". The FDA officials who worried that the presence of insect hair might have some babies refusing to eat have apparently not seen toddlers scooping up food from a kitchen floor
