SUGAR NAMES GLOBAL WINNERS Featured

Craig Anderson, DataSyncSugarCRM has named its 2105 Global Partner Awards winners with Chandler, Ariz.-based Levementum selected as North American Partner of the Year. The global partner prize went to Squiz, based in Sydney, Australia. Squiz also has offices in New Zealand, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Honored for outstanding regional revenue growth was Sioux Falls, S.D.-based DataSync. Early in April, DataSync, headed by Craig Anderson, said it had placed a $1.05 million round of private equity funding.

The company said it had added 20 new positions since late 2013 and will hire 15 to 20 more by the end of this year. Levementum was also cited for achieving 10 years as a Sugar partner. April was busy for Sugar which held its annual SugarCon conference. Concurrent with that, the open source company announced Sugar 7.1, scheduled for release this month May. The CRM vendor said the product's advanced workflow features include a visual designer; enhanced time-based alerts, escalations and approval workflows; support for parallel and complex workflows; and a business rules builder. Mobile users can customize dashboards and dashlets while enhanced role-based views improve useability for customer-facing employees. There is enhanced D&B data services integration into the Sugar UX intelligence panel. Squiz draws my vote for great looking, but infuriating webpage. Many young companies try to be breezy, attractive and conversational and also succeed in burying information. For example, Squiz piled 152 words of glowing introduction on a text (I guess a press release) that discussed its February purchase of Australia's Insightful CRM.
