SUMMIT 2010, YES. BUT HOW?

Sue SwensonSage is committed to having a Summit user conference in 2010, but just how has not been decided. Sue Swenson, CEO of Sage North America, is considering having Summit at the same time as the Insights reseller conference. Either holding them concurrently or consecutively in the same city offers the potential for saving travel costs for vendors and Sage itself.

Sage has already made one change for Insights—it will invite members of its accountants’ network. And that could give some traffic to exhibitors. This year’s Summit, like most shows, was lighter than last with about 1,200 attendees. The number of exhibitors was also down. However, a talk with a few exhibitors indicated they were fairly happy with leads. That may reflect a possibility I’ve discussed earlier—that the people who are coming to conferences are more serious because of some need to buy, rather than wait.
