EXACT CEMENTS PULL BACK Featured

PhilL Robinson, Exact Netherlands-based Exact has named three individuals to its executive team. But the real significance of the hirings is the software company underscored its pull back from markets outside of Belgium, Luxemburg and the Netherlands.

CEO Phil Robinson also noted Exact is replacing its business unit structure—Business Solutions and Cloud Solutions—with a with a more functionally aligned Executive team. In November, the company said it was accelerating growth in the Benelux region. The lesson is it pays to read the second graph as it also said, "As a result of this renewed focus, investments aimed at servicing smaller companies in the UK and Germany will be brought back." Through its owner, Apax Partners, Exact last year sold its American operations—JobBoss, Macola and Max—to ECI Software Solutions which had recently been purchased by Exact. Incidentally, someone familiar with those manufacturing packages said as of January, ECI execs had not introduced themselves to the Macola channel. The two announcements also leave a question about Exact Online, which was introduced into the United States, but had made little progress I am reading the pull back from smaller companies as signaling there's not much, if anything, left of that effort in this country. The new execs are Paul Ramakers as COO, John Dillon as CMO and Alex Myers as director of product strategy. Makers has been with Exact January 2003 and was managing director of the former Business Solutions unit since January 2015. Dillon was previously VP of product management for SDL while Myers came to Exact after working as was director of strategy and product for Achilles.
