Early last month, the company released Alere Manufacturing v9.7 which it said was the second major release this year. Features added in 2014 include a single-step work order processing function, a utility to update master routes based on work order experience, a BOM lead time roll-up calculator and a material availability report.

A recent newsletter from the TIW Corp., which markets the Alere line, notes that a client/server version of Alere Manufacturing is in development. I quickly checked the date to make sure I had not received an old email. But the May 2014 edition notes that the new version should be available in “a few short months.” It will be shipped on a CD that also has the LAN version of the software so that users can choose their platform.
