RSM (until recently known as McGladrey) has ballooned as a presence in the Dynamics AX market with the purchase of Junction Solutions. The deal  adds $50 million to the $174 million in annual revenue reported by the accounting firm's IT consulting business. "This one really gives us a huge uplift in capacity," says Steve Ems, RSM principal and national business applications leader about the week's announcement of the purchase.

The switch to the cloud and the emphasis on Sage X3 has cut into revenue of SWK Technologies. The reseller's parent, SilverSun Technologies, reported this week a sharp drop in product revenue and net income for the third quarter ended September 30. Net income for the most recently ended period was $16,464, down sharply from $248,165 a year ago. Revenue rose to $7.2 million, an increase of 18.3 percent from slightly more than $6.1 million in last year's corresponding period.

Xero has named Herman Man as global VP of product. The fact that Man is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay area shows the cloud software company's continuing effort to have top management presence in the United States. There's been no announcement about the hiring, but Man's LinkedIn page shows he joined New Zealand-based Xero in August. He was co-founder of Chewsy in 2010.
