Private equity firm Thoma Bravo will take QAD private in a $2 billion deal. QAD shareholders will receive $87.50 per share in cash, which was a premium of about 20 percent over the last close before the announcement.

Rockwell Automation is buying Plex Systems for $2.22 billion in cash. Plex reportedly has $150 million in revenue.

 Unit4 is spinning out its student information system business. The software company said the new business, called Thesis, will continue to be owned by Advent International.
