Unit4 has released what it says is the first in a series of mobile applications for users of its Coda Financials and Agresso software. The Business Analytics Viewer, an iPad and Android application, is described as providing a simple view of business intelligence and corporate performance management applications. Also released was a Tasks app for the iPhone and iPad that has been designed for use by those responsible for approvals of invoices, purchase orders, requisitions and other financial documents. Via the app, users can carry out a range of functions for purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, journals and other financial documents. Mobile applications are free to customers on supported software versions and downloadable from the iTunes AppStore or Google Play.

Acumatica has given 40 of its channel organizations a preview of Acumatica 4.1. The company also summarized new features in outline form in a press release that pointed out important changes. Among the improvements in usability were the ability to drag and drop files to Acumatica, quick search, parametric filtering and real-time connectivity with Microsoft Excel. And the connection to Excel, the software Swiss Army knife of the accountant, ought to prove pretty popular.

Epicor Software has made a series of product introductions or announcements during this week’s Insights conference in Nashville, Tenn. This includes a mobile version of Epicor Payment Exchange which supports any smartphone and Apple iOS devices. Free and downloadable, EPX Mobile can be used with a specially encrypted card reader so that credit cards can be swiped on the smartphone.
