Socius has followed up last fall's acquisition of the Dynamics GP practice of I.B.I.S. by opening an office in Dunwoody, Ga. The new facility in the Atlanta area will employ 25 people initially with the company saying it has plans for aggressive growth in the next year. The office is the twenty-ninth for Dublin, Ohio-based Socius which resells the four Dynamics accounting applications, NetSuite, Sage 100 and 500, and Syspro.

Jeff Roth, recently departed as CEO of SWK Technologies, has become an executive consultant for SBS Group. Both reselling organizations are headquartered in New Jersey. Roth has also begun an organization called J Advisors. "Jim Bowman [SBS CEO] needed some executive depth at SBS and I'm there about 50 percent of my time," Roth says. Roth continues that he "is on the executive team and there as a consultant with many projects and goals ahead of me" as part of what he calls "a great organization.

Intuit turned in a good performance for the third quarter ended April 31 but seemed to spend a lot of time fielding questions from analysts asking why its growth in QuickBooks Online was not faster. However, the company doubled net income to slightly more than $1 billion in the most recently ended period from $501 million a year ago. And revenue rose to $2.3 billion, a 7.9 percent increase from $2.14 billion in last year’s corresponding period.
