MACDONALD TAKES SALES EXEC JOB Featured

Former Sage and Intacct executive Taylor Macdonald has become chief revenue officer of Martus Solutions.

His hiring was one of four executive moves announced  this week by Martus, which makes cloud-based budgeting, forecasting and reporting software. Martus also hired Chris Martel as sales VP and promoted Vanessa Chambers to a new role of VP of operations and products management and promoted Paul Wheeler to the position of chief technology officer. An Intacct marketplace partner, Martus has a channel that includes VARs, a client accounting services program and referral partners—the same lineup as Intacct. One of the best-known figures in the ERP market channel, Macdonald spent 11-and-half years at Intacct where he was VP of channel sales for Intacct from July 2020 through Feburary 2016 and was then promoted to SVP. Sage purchased Intacct early in 2017. Macdonald had been a senior channel executive with Sage for December 1998 through December 2007 and ran the award-winning Sage reseller, Macdonald Consulting Group, for eight years before that. Wheeler, who was been with Martus since it was founded in 2008, is the company’s primary product architect. Martel was chief revenue officer for the prior 11 months at Rabbu, a financial analysis tool for short-term rentals. Before that, he was senior director of sales and CS and SaaS business leader at Tripadvisor for three years. Chambers has been with Martus since 2018 as a product manager.
