NETSUITE OFFERING FLEXIBLE LICENSES Featured

Oracle NetSuite is rolling out flexible licensing of its software starting with the company’s Warehouse Management System. EVP Evan Goldberg, who runs the unit, said the aim is “to have more employees to be able to use NetSuite in a more flexible way.”

Customers will be charged only for the elements of NetSuite which different employees use. “Not all employees need access to all features,” Goldberg said at this week’s SuiteWorld Conference in Las Vegas. “You pay for what they need. You don’t pay for what they don’t need.” Goldberg said WMS is “the first of many flexible licenses to come,” but did not provide a schedule. Also introduced was NetSuite Capital. “It’s an easy way to borrow against your receivables without the headache of a formal loan,” Goldberg said. The program gives users the ability to accelerate payment on outstanding receivables. The company’s press release referred to the program as an embedded service but offered few details as it spewed out information for many new programs and products in 12 press releases issued on October 17. Also new is With NetSuite Benchmark 360, which provides operational and financial metrics for benchmarking a businesses’ performance.
