Smits has operated his own business, Smits Properties, since October 2021, but he was also employed as the Chief Technology Officer for Prime Trust from October 2021 through February of this year. He spent seven years and two months at RingCentral, where he served as VP of IT Infrastructure and Operations from August 2018 through October 2021. Smits was also the VP of IT and Operations for DocuSign from December 2012 through January 2014. In addition, he held VP positions with McAfee and Salesforce and senior manager roles at PayPal and eBay.
