COLUMBUS U.S. BIZ UP 10.3 PERCENT Featured

The American business of Denmark-based reseller Columbus registered its best performance in more than two years for the first quarter ended March 31.

Revenue for the operations in the United States rose 1.03 percent to about $3.2 million. It’s the kind of rebound Columbus has been talking about for some time. The comp Total revenue was approximately $57.71 million, up 7 percent over last year’s corresponding period. An increase of Dynamics revenue rose 7.9 percent year-over-year to roughly $28.7 million while revenue for the M3 software line dropped 1.9 percent to about $11 million. CEO Søren Krogh Knudsen explained the drop in the M3 business. “We have been hit by a few postponed projects,” he said during the week’s earnings webcast. Non-ERP products and services showed strong growth—revenue from data and analytics was up 27.8 percent, customer experience and engagement rose 36.3 percent, while digital commerce increased by 27.8 percent. The reseller’s best performance for a country was Denmark, its second-largest market, where revenue was up 22.7 percent over a year ago, driven by sales of Dynamics and digital commerce services.
