 Avalara has named Kimberly Deobald as its new chief revenue officer this week. It is the first executive move announced since the company was purchased by Vista Equity Partners in October.

She takes over the spot that has been vacant since Pascal Van Dooren left in 2019. Deobald was mostly recently general manager, Symon.AI and Revenue Intelligence at Varicent from February 2021 through July 2022. Prior to that, she had more than 21-year career at IBM where she was VP of global sales, data science and AI in her last job there from September 2016 through February 2021. The company has also promoted Liz Armbruester hd to EVP, Customer and Compliance Operations, to oversee the company’s global compliance and payments teams, as well as its global customer excellence, support, go live, and professional services operations. In addition, Jay Lee, who has been with the company since 2019, has been promoted to EVP and chief marketing officer.
