NETSUITE 3Q REVS ROSE 24 PERCENT Featured

Oracle said revenue for its NetSuite ERP applications increase 24 percent year-over-year for the third quarter ended February 28. The software company also said revenue for its Fusion ERP line was 30 percent higher than in last year’s corresponding period.

The company did not provide a customer count for NetSuite and Fusion, as it has at other times. For the second quarter ended November 30, Oracle reported there were more than 24,000 NetSuite customers so the increase for the third quarter is on top of that. However, over the last few quarters, NetSuite has added about 1,000 customers per quarter.  Net income for the most recently ended quarter was slightly more than $5 billion, an increase of 95 percent from $2.57 billion a year earlier. Second-quarter revenue of $10.1 billion rose by 3 percent over $9.8 billion in last year’s corresponding period. License revenues reached $1.3 billion, up 4 percent, unchanged in constant currencies. A substantial part of the earnings webcast was devoted to chairman Larry Ellison bashing rival SAP. He quoted a publication that reported SAP CFO Luca Mucic said it had not lost customers to SAP. Ellison then proceeded to list competitive wins—that unbroken section of the transcript took 2,106 words out of 5,695 words for the total webcast.
