IFS BUYING WORKER SOFTWARE BIZ Featured

IFS is acquiring Quebec-based Poka, which makes software for training and managing factory and field workers. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close in the third quarter, were not disclosed.

“The concept of connecting every single worker was historically overlooked as part of digital transformation journeys,” IFS CEO Darren Roos said of his company’s purchase in a prepared statement. Founded in 2014 by Alexandre Leclerc and Antoine Bisson, Poka has customers in 55 countries. The Poka platform’s knowledge management module incorporates visual work instructions and workflow approvals, while the skills management module has such features as a team skills matrix, roles-based training, and exams and auto-scoring. The Forms & Checklists module’s capabilities offer forms creation, multimedia and esignatures in forms, forms sharing and scheduling and deviation flags. Among the features of the Issues Management module are issue logs and notifications, issue discussion threads, equipment and issue category tags. The Communication & Collaboration Module is included in all sales and comes with a factory feed with multimedia news posts; posts, comments, tags and notifications; and views reporting with notifications.
