Users do not need to be Avalara customers to utilize the plugin to calculate and research sales tax rates based on their location. The plug-in does not provide access to Avalara’s full suite of products. Those with ChatGPT Plus accounts can install the plugin from the ChatGPT store and can then query ChatGPT for sales tax locations or calculate tax on a specific sale and ChatGPT will chose when to use the plugin based on the question and conversation. Currently, American ChatGPT Plus subscribers can use the plugin. It will be rolled out to other regions at some point.
