Sage will integrate such Microsoft products as Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams, as embedded services in Sage products and the Sage Digital Network. Along with Azure--its cloud platform--Teams and Microsoft 365 are among the products and platforms being most actively promoted by Microsoft.

This week’s announcement, strong on buzz words and a healthy dose of vagueness, said there had also been an early first release of Sage Active, described as an “easy-to-configure, integrated Business Management Solution built on Microsoft Azure.” Active is currently available in France with Spain and Germany to follow. The combination is billed as enabling SMBs to be more productive, reduce costs and grow their businesses. Sage touted the link between back-office functions and collaboration tools available in Microsoft 365. Users can access virtual apps, desktops, OneDrive and SaaS apps via a single sign-on “all as a part of their Sage membership.” Membership is available automatically to all customers and partners, offering a variety of resources. Sage’s press release also said the companies “will deliver streamlined digital work experiences.”
