FinancialForce.com, the company jointly owned by Unit4 and Salesforce.com, has received $50 million in private equity money. The investment comes from funds managed by Advent International, which just acquired Unit4 via a tender offer. FinancialForce is certainly optimistic. Its CEO, Jeremy Roche, issued a statement that said, "The company is on track to transform the ERP market in the same way that Salesforce.com has for CRM."

Cougar Mountain Software has released Denali 4.0, the latest version of core accounting software system. This release includes the Payroll module. Enhancements have been made to all of the most commonly used modules including Accounts Receivable, Purchase Order, Order Entry, and Inventory with several reports also updated. The product can be purchased as a package or by the individual module. Sample packages are defined on the Cougar Mountain Software website. Payroll  pricing begins at $995. 

XTuple, which makes open source financial software, has introduced a wide range of features and fixes with version 4.4 of its software. One particularly appeals to me and that's what the company calls the "simplification of sometimes-obscure ERP terminology to make the system more accessible" Probably more important to most users is the company's continued work to replicate desktop functionality on the Mobile Web client.
