Sage looked to Amazon.com to provide the platform for a pilot test of a cloud computing edition of its SalesLogix suite of customer relationship management products, which was announced recently. Commercial availability is planned for early next year. The use of the term SaaS in a press release from Sage North America was a first and this looks like a step towards a broader program of Internet-based apps from the vendor.
