Rob Johnson, one of Sage's important channel people, is moving on to a sales job at sales-and-use tax company Avalara.  Johnson is currently senior director of partner programs for Sage North America and will become national sales manager for Bainbridge Island, Wash.-based Avalara. Johnson came to Sage via its purchase of Timberline Software, where he was VP of sales for accounting products and worked from 1995 through 2004.
