Vertex is growing its employee base, which contributed to a drop in net income for the first quarter ended March 31.

Payments company Paya is launching Paya Payables during the current quarter. CEO Jeff Hack noted the plan to make the product commercially available during this week's webcast for earnings for the first quarter ended March 31.

Cloud software vendor Xero closed its year on March 31 with 3.27 million subscribers, an increase of 19 percent from the total at the end of fiscal 2021, it said this week.
