It has already publicized its deals with McGladrey, Cargas Systems and Net@Work. The importance of the combination is that it has covered its bases in getting a pure Sage reseller, Net@Work; a major Microsoft Dynamics reseller, Cargas; along with two important CPA firms, that are principally in the Microsoft camp. One pitch seems to be that Vertex is providing a more channel friendly message than Avalara, which has been dominating the sales tax news for the last few years.

Vertex SMB has continued on the path of signing high-profile firms as VARs with its recent agreement with Wipfli. The businesses issued a press release with the usual array of laudatory comments for each other. The nuts and bolts is Wipfli will market the Vertex SMB TaxCentral program to small and medium-sized business clients. This is the fourth reseller signing announced by the Berwyn, Pa.-based sales tax software vendor.
