Macola Pro has gotten a new interface, Exact Navigator, which provides role-based access to information in the accounting and manufacturing package. The new application takes its name from Macola's owner, the Netherlands-based Exact, which modestly termed the development "a game-changing solution."

The company billed Navigator as having intelligent dashboards, menus and reports will also provide support for planned advanced mobile applications. Exact did not spell out what those are or when they might arrive. The Macola product, of course, takes its name from Macola Technologies, which Exact purchased early in 2001. It had  once looked like the name and the product might be shunted aside in favor of European species such as OneWorld. But Exact breathed new life into the line in September with the introduction of Macola Manufacturing Pro and Macola Distribution Pro. The company has not been consistent in placing the name Exact before Macola. It does on the website but not in press releases mentioning Macola and a link to Macola Pro in the Navigator release leads to a page primary about Macola On-Demand, the very new cloud product. With the interface launch, the company set out on a tour this month, hitting Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and Newark, N.J. Sounds like the time-honored airport tour.
