Vend has three pricing plans starting at $39 per month for the Starter plan which supports a single outlet, one register and three users. For $79 per month, the Advanced plan allows users to add registers as needed for unlimited users in a single outlet. The Multi-register version starts with two registers and unlimited users. All three versions support unlimited products. Vend was founded in 2010 by Vaughan Rowsell, a software engineer. The company website says Rowsell was inspired by Xero in creating the product and company.

Xero has reached an agreement to jointly market products worldwide with Vend, which markets POS, inventory and customer management systems for the retail market. The companies first integrated their cloud-based applications in 2010 and have joint customers in New Zealand and Australia. Now, the partners plan to penetrate other markets, including the United Kingdom and United States.
