Hitachi will provide "sourcing, program management, development, and testing for the MBS IT organization," according to a press release. MBS builds the Dynamics ERP and CRM applications. This comes on the heels this year of Microsoft's handing off what was left of the Dynamics SL team to Plumbline Solutions, which was handling most of the Solomon duties anyway. Reports were that the SL folks in Fargo were switched to Dynamics AX and this will probably add to some channel buzz. Hitachi will co-locate in Microsoft offices with plans to get its own building as business goes. The press release does not have completely clear language that Hitachi is not working on the Dynamics line. It notes that the "MBS IT organization builds internal software solutions to support the MBS business." A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that Hitachi will not work on Dynamics.
