I'm not sure that the company was literally hawking tickets on the street, although one veteran reporter also claims that the real attendance was closer to 10,000 and over the years editors who attend a lot of shows get pretty good at sniffing out inflated attendance claims. However, exaggerated show attendance is a time-honored tradition. Just remember this year's Envision, the conference that Microsoft used to replace Convergence, Microsoft's chief marketing officer Chris Caposella continued to insist more than 6,000 people attended while most show veterans thought the total was under 3,000 maybe as low as two. Well, Sage CEO Steve Kelly said there were 15,000 so that makes it true? Right?
