PROCORE HIKED SALES, MARKETING HIRES Featured

Procore Technologies said it has increased its sales and marketing head count by 23 percent over the last year.

In its form 10-Q for the second quarter ended June 30, Procore also said it increased the general and administrative staff by 12 percent and R&D employees by 7 percent in the same period. Despite that, the construction company cut its loss to $52.9 million for the most recently ended period from $73.1 million a year earlier. A sharp rise in interest income to $9.9 million from $753 million in last year’s corresponding period also contributed to the drop in red ink. Procore also reported a 32.7-percent rise in revenue to $229.5 million from $1722.2 million in last year’s corresponding period. CEO Tooey Courtemanche said during Procore’s recent earnings webcast, the company added 600 customers during the period, bringing the total to 16,700. Courtemanche said Procore continues to see mixed responses to the anticipated direction of the economy. There was a “more pronounced” dynamics in those customers who expressed caution while a greater percentage grew their purchase volumes, according to Courtemanche. Caution and growth were not concentrated in any area, he said.
