The United States District Court for Nevada found Rimini made at least 15 types of false statements about support practices regarding PeopleSoft copyrights. The court also held Rimini's founder and CEO, Seth Ravin, personally liable for Rimini's copyright infringement, copyright notice removal, and false advertising, ruling that he, "knowingly participated in the creation and propagation of Rimini's false advertising." Rimini was found to have continued illegal practices despite multiple prior copyright infringement rulings, an existing permanent injunction, and a contempt of court ruling, The court found Rimini infringed on PeopleSoft copyrights, “tens of thousands of times using multiple infringing support processes,” according to the Oracle announcement. It also held Rimini remove Oracle’s copyright information from files. The court approved the language that Rimini must use in its press release without modification.
