Duff will move into the position of executive chairman. In a prepared statement, Duff said the appointment of Maritz was part of transition plan that was implemented when the latter was hired. Before coming to Syspro, Maritz worked as independent business consultant for nearly two years. Prior to that, he was a financial executive with South Africa-based SilverBridge Holdings for eights year and one month. In his last position there, Maritz was group financial director from November 2006 through February 2013.

Syspro has picked a new CEO for its global organization for the first time in 44 years. .Jaco Maritz, who has served as COO since 2019, will replace Phil Duff, who has held the position since founding the South African manufacturing software company in 1978.
