COLUMBUS US EKES OUT GROWTH Featured


The greatly reduced operations of reseller Columbus in the United States crept up by 1 percent for the year ended December 31. The downsized business closed 2021 with revenue of roughly $14.5 million the company reported this week.

But the Denmark-based organization still managed 5-percent year-over-year growth despite the divestiture of its To Increase software subsidiary and the SMB portion of its operations in this country to Enavate. At the time, Columbus said the sale of the U.S.  would cut about $23.4 million in revenue from 2021 results. Overall, Columbus had about $1.82 billion in revenue last year. Components of that total included a decline of 3.9 percent to $31.8 million in product revenue and $187.9 million in service revenue which represented an increase of 7 percent.  After-tax income was approximately $23.9 million, up 158 percent from 2020. Most of thegrowth came from Norway which had a 47 percent rise in revenue. Overall, Columbus expects revenue growth ranging from 3 percent to 19 oercent for 22, according to CEO Søren Krogh Knudsen
