REPAY GROWS SOFTWARE LINKS BY 79% Featured

Repay expanded its number of software partners by 79 percent in 2021. That was part of the report made as the company recently issued financial results for the year ended December 31.

Repay said it ended the year with 222 software partners, up 98 from the prior year's 124 and had more than 80 B2B software integrations in around 15 vertical markets. Meanwhile, the company lost $56 million for the most recently ended year, cutting its red ink by 38.7 percent from $117.4 million in 2020. Revenue rose to $219.3 million for 2021, an increase 33.6 percent from slightly more than $158 million the prior year. The company said its acquired operations, BillingTree. Kontrol, and Payix added $14 million during 2021 and will add another $15 million in 2022. Operating expenses rose to $273.3 million for 2021, an increase of 33.6 percent from $187 million the prior year. The bottom line was impacted by a $14.1 million change in fair value of tax receivable liability, $9.1 million on the settlement of interest rate swaps and disposal of property and equipment last year. These were countered by a $30.7 million tax benefit, compared to a similar benefit of $12.4 million in 2020. During the earnings call, CEO John Morris pointed to the growing move to digital payments. “On the personal loan side, we've heard from several of our largest lending customers, that they are going completely digital for both loan funding and accepting payments,” he said and executives pointed to a general desire in the market in a one-stop shop for AP and AR electronic payments.
