Meanwhile, 48 percent of all respondents have made remote work a permanent option for some employees on a full-time basis while 42 percent considering changing policies. During the fourth quarter of 2021, 36 percent of middle-market companies said they had started allowing remote work. Seventy seven percent of the group that previously did not allow remote work, 77 percent found little or minor productivity impact; 70 percent says reduced teamwork was a minor issue or not an issue and 75 percent said managing works remote was also represented no or minor problems. While 27 percent said remote work created issues in maintaining culture, 68 percent saw minor issues or no iproblem. The other big issue is hiring with 56 percent of surveyed companies planning to ramp up hiring. More than 90 percent says it will be at least somewhat challenging to staffing positions while 85 percent says staff turnover call it a “challenge”. Ninety-six percent cited a lack of qualified workers will be an issue with 43 percent saying it will be a major issue.
